Urethra Cup Pessary

Provides better support than the urethral pessary in cases of more severe descensus.

If the holding apparatus of the uterus (uterine) and the pelvic floor muscles are too weak to hold the uterus in position, uterine prolapse occurs. The cause of descent is a weakening of the pelvic floor, for example, due to rapid succession of births, very heavy children or multiples. Bladder and defecation disorders, such as involuntary loss of urine, are often unpleasant side effects.

The medesign Urethra Cup Pessary is a coupling of the cerclage pessary with a correspondingly shaped dome, which is placed just below the urethra. The thickening at the upper edge supports the urethra, which deepens during pressing and coughing, and improves its closure function. Its robust body is superior to the 'sensitive' urethra pessary in cases of more severe descensus.

Nevertheless, the patient is advised to remove the urethra cup pessary in the evening.

Further information

Due to the large contact surface, the pressure load on the tissue is reduced.
