One of the essential prerequisites for an accurate cytological interpretation is the proper fixation of the examination material.

medesign Cyto-Spray Fixative Cyto-Spray Fixative is an alcohol-based fixative spray that enables the rapid and error-free fixation of cytological preparations. The pump spray mechanism of the Cyto-Spray allows for a very even distribution of the fixative on the slide. After spraying, the alcohol component of the Cyto-Spray Fixative evaporates, and the remaining polyglycol protective film optimally protects the preparation against drying out and damage.

To ensure optimal results, cell smears should be fixed immediately after collection while still moist. This prevents shrinkage or drying of the sample material and alterations to the structural characteristics of the cells.
