Factors such as hormone deficiency, obesity, heavy physical labor, dietary habits, or genetically determined tissue weakness increase the risk.
Conservative treatment for pelvic organ prolapse, which is performed on an outpatient basis, includes hormone therapy, pelvic floor exercises, electrical stimulation, and the use of pessaries. To date, cube pessaries remain unsurpassed, especially for self-treatment.
