Urethra cup pessary

In cases of more severe prolapse, it offers better support than the urethral pessary.

If the uterus's supporting structures and the pelvic floor muscles are too weak to hold the uterus in its position, a uterine prolapse occurs. The cause of the prolapse is a weakening of the pelvic floor. z.B. Rapidly spaced births, very large babies, or multiple births can cause bladder and bowel dysfunction, such as involuntary urinary incontinence, which are often unpleasant accompanying symptoms.

The medesign urethral cup pessary is a combination of a cerclage pessary and a specially shaped cup that is positioned directly beneath the urethra. The thickening at the upper edge supports the urethra, which descends during straining and coughing, and improves its closure function. Its robust body is superior to the 'sensitive' urethral pessary in cases of more pronounced prolapse.

Nevertheless, the patient is advised to remove the urethral cup pessary in the evening.
