Description
A highly recommended and healthy tea without caffeine, theine, or bitter substances. It is particularly rich in vitamin C, minerals, and trace elements.
Rooibos (pronounced roo-bush) tea is a highly recommended, healthy, and caffeine-free tea. It is made from the fermented leaves of a 1.5-meter-tall bush (Aspalatus unearis). Use one level teaspoon of rooibos tea per cup, pour boiling water over it, and let it steep for about 3 minutes. The steeping time only affects the intensity and flavor, not the strength as with regular tea.
Unlike black tea, rooibos doesn't change color or its full-bodied flavor when it cools and steeps for a while. You can add sugar, honey, milk, or lemon – it's entirely up to you. Because rooibos contains almost no bitter compounds, it tastes great even without sugar or honey, or with just a little.
A cup of brewed rooibos tea contains approximately 300 mg of protein, 47 mg of potassium, 28 mg of magnesium, 2.8 mg of iron, 1.2 mg of manganese and fluorine per 100 g of tea.
